AMERICAN PIT BULL TERRIERS
Besides Akhal Tekes, my other passion is the American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT). This is an amazing breed of dog that because of sensational reporting and poor ownership has developed a bad reputation. I have had the wonderful experience of owning two of these magnificent dogs. Besides owning APBT's I am also a foster mom for Luv-A-Bull Pitbull Rescue and usually have one or two foster dogs living at the house. OUR DOGS
MAKO
Mako was my first dog that I became involved in competition with. He was also an American Pitbull Terrier. With Mako I competed in the Protection Sport Association. The trials consisted of obedience and protection work. Mako earned his PSA 1 title at two years old and was working toward his PSA 2. Aside from his competition duties Mako was also a Registered Therapy and Certified Reading Education Assistance Dog (R.E.A.D.). Sadly he was hit by a car and killed in November of 2006.
JINX
Jinx is my current pet/competition dog. Born November 24th 2006, UKC purple ribbon registered American Pitbull Terrier. We are in training for the sport of Schutzhund. Schutzhund originated in Germany as the breed test for German Shepards but has become a world wide, all breed sport. It is a three part competition that involves tracking, obedience, and protection work. When she is not training Jinx enjoys eating with our birds or lounging with her cat, Midnight.
BELLA
Bella was a foster dog that we could not let go of. She and Jinx are like two peas in a pod, so we decided to make Bella a permanent member of the Heatherstone Family.
